Weeks & Themes 2024
Week 1: July 2 - 5 | Art Camp (taylor’s version)
*4 Day Week
Calling all Swifties! This week, we’re going to make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it… Campers will use artistic mediums to travel through each of Taylor’s Eras, from her self-titled debut album to her latest release Midnights. Our artwork will make the whole camp shimmer!
Week 2: July 8 - 12 | Art Explosion
What happens when science and art collide? Glenhyrst’s Art Explosion Week! Campers will be junior scientists this week, experimenting, collaborating, building and creating. Campers will learn to make their own bouncy balls, build their own mini catapults, and participate in making a paper-mache volcano!
Week 3: July 15 - 19 | Fashion Week
Do you have a passion for fashion? This week we’ll look at what’s in vogue. Fashionistas will sketch out their original designs in the studio. Campers will create wearable accessories and have the chance to work with a variety of materials as well as try out tie-dye techniques.
Week 4: July 22 - 26 | Food Fight
Who says food is just for eating? This week we’re making food look like art… and making art look like food! Campers will make rockets from juice pouches, slime from pudding, and paint from marshmallows. We will experiment with paint and texture using fruits and veggies, and even craft a treat or two for campers to try!
Week 5: July 29 - August 2 | Camp Juniper
Tucked away in the Juniper trees of Glenhyrst Gardens, this week campers will experience that classic, nostalgic summer camp feeling. We’ll picnic outside, have a movie ‘under the stars’ in the coach house, and go on a scavenger hunt. Campers will make classic camp crafts like friendship bracelets, shrinky dink keychains and pennant flags.
Week 6: August 6 - 9 | Claynation 9.0

Get ready to clay all day! Our annual clay week is always a camper favourite! This week, we’re focusing on the 3D and developing our sculpting skills. Campers will work with many clay-based mediums this week to create original works of art, and will even learn how to make their own salt dough! This is the perfect week for campers who don’t mind getting messy in the name of creating art!
Week 7: August 12 - 16 | Shark Week
Da, duh… Da, duh… DA, DUH… Face your fears and spend the week swimming with the sharks! We’re going to dive into the underwater world and see what creatures dwell down there. Campers will be inspired by the beauty and mysteries of aquatic life as they paint, collage, and sculpt their own underwater artworks.
Week 8: August 19 - 23 | Art Olympics
The 2024 Summer Olympics are taking place in Paris, France - across the world, closer to Paris, Ontario, campers will be taking part in Glenhyrst’s Art Olympics! This week, we’ll go for the gold and take inspiration from the athletic world as we draw, paint and create in the studio.
Week 9: August 26 - 30 | Ultimate Clue Detective
A classic whodunit… This week is shrouded in mystery and full of puzzles to solve. Campers will make their own detective tool kits, decode secret messages, write with invisible ink, and work their way through an escape room to solve the thrilling mystery surrounding Glenhyrst!
